January 2016 Meeting

We last met on Saturday January 16th at the St Johns Ambulance Hall in Beccles where over a dozen members attended.  This meeting was mainly to plan for our Open Day on March 5th but several models were displayed.  Two or three new visitor members met up with us and one of them brought along a G scale live steam Lynton & Barnstaple loco, at the other end of the scale an Nn3 Southwold Railway railcar was displayed by Stewart.  James has acquired two new baseboards and is intending to construct a O-16.5 layout on them, while Graham has done a lot of work to his river side layout.

Grahams new river side layout christened "Ellerbank" was static displayed.  Final "details" can be applied soon to finish the layout.

One of Stewarts rail cars under construction.  Part of a Worsley Works brass Southwold coach etch and diecast bonnet has been used running on a Kato 11-103 tram chassis.

Stewarts very much smaller scale "Nn3" railcar is this 2mm scale brass etch on a Marklin rail cleaner chassis. Great micro modelling.

A super Accucraft Lynton & Barnstaple G scale live steam model of "Lew" shown by John.
Bill brought along this 1/16th model based on a Drewry Rail Tractor which has been used on his small "Knights Yard" layout.  The body has been built with cardboard, and the driver is animated.
Richard recently acquired these virtually mint Eggerbahn items in original boxes.
Jim brought along his hew kit, a 009 scale Rusby's Models resin railbus, some of the components are shown here.
Graham also displayed this scratch built station building inspired by the Glynn Valley Tramway structures.
